What will the weather be like?
February in Punta de Mita is ideal! Low humidity, High 70's-low 80's during the day with cooler 60's in the evening.
What's the dress code?
The entire wedding experience will be entirely outdoors with good shade cover. Dress comfortably, beachy and cute! If you get cold easily, the evenings will cool down - bring a light jacket to be safe.
Are Kids Welcome?
Yes! Bring the kiddos along for a vacation if you'd like - please just let us know their ages when you RSVP so we can plan accurately.
Having difficulty with the RSVP?
Be sure to search with your full name to find yourself in the system. One name should display everyone in your party. You will be asked to respond to the four different planned events we have arranged - if you have any issues, reach out to Chris or Cory and we can update things manually.
Do I need a passport?
Yes. If you don't have one - don't wait, get the process started! If you do, check your expiration date to make sure you're valid well past travel dates.
What should I expect at the PVR airport?
When you arrive you will have to go through customs, passport check, etc. and you may be selected for a more thorough luggage inspection. Nothing entirely out of the ordinary for international travel. But, you should be prepared for a lot of chatter and sales attempts after leaving security. Keep your eyes forward and ignore everyone - keep walking ahead and out of the airport. Don't get sucked in!
Do I need pesos?
No. But, it's a good idea to have pesos on hand! You may end up spending more on something using a card or US dollars. We've used our credit cards while travelling around MX plenty of times without a problem - just be sure your chosen card doesn't apply extra charges for international use.
Is it safe?
Yes! You might be out of your comfort zone or skeptical based on what you see in the media, but we have always felt comfortable walking around Punta de Mita day and night. That being said, it never hurts to remain cautious, keep your belongings safely tucked away and walk around in groups if you're uncertain.
Be prepared for beach sales
Similar to the energy upon exiting the PVR airport, you'll likely encounter adults and children avidly selling goods on the beach or in town. At times, it can seem a little relentless, but they are harmless and on occasion actually have something perfect that you really want. Otherwise, it's okay to say 'no gracias' and carry on.
